1. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
You may not take a mate from another/no Clan unless they move to your Clan. If they do not want to move, you have the choice to leave, though if you are found on the Clan’s territory, you will be treated like any other hostile intruder.
If kits are involved, they will always go with the mother. In the case of same sex couples, they go with whichever parent would take better care of them.
If kits are born to rogues or loners, they will be brought into the Clan.
2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan’s territory.
3. Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.
4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice. Mentors must be twenty-four moons or older unless no cats of that age are available. At ninety-six moons, cats are no longer allowed to mentor. At one hundred and eight moons, a cat must retire to the elder's den.
If a cat is physically disabled, they are unable to mentor.
Elders may continue to hunt, though not patrol, if they are cleared by the medicine cat.
5a. Advisor apprentices must undergo normal warrior training, and will be chosen by the current advisor between eleven and twelve moons of age. Once they are chosen, they will take another 6 moons of apprenticeship under the advisor before being given the warrior name at eighteen moons.
The suffix for advisors is always -cloud.
6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice. That apprentice must have received their warrior name to ensure that the mentor has taught everything they can.
If an apprentice dies before becoming a warrior, the mentor must take another apprentice before being eligible for the deputy position.
8. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires, or is exiled.
If no deputy is available to take the position, the clan will vote on a temporary leader. The medicine cat will either attempt to directly contact StarClan or wait for a sign to determine who the new leader should be. Once the leader has been decided and received their nine lives, the temporary leader is usually given the deputy position.
9. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the leader can have up to three days of thought before announcing the new deputy in order to prevent a rushed decision.
10. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. If intruders are found, words should always be used before claws. Any suspicious activity must always be reported to the leader as soon as the patrol enters camp.
11. No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different clan.
Kits that appear to have no parents will be adopted into the clan. If the parent(s) appear within one moon of the kit joining the clan, they can go with them without any fuss from the Clan. If the kit has been in the clan for more than one moon, the Clan will treat the parent(s) like any other intruders, unless the kit wants to leave.
12. The word of the Clan leader should be treated as law, unless their word breaks part of the code.
13. An honourable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defence.
14. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
Kittypets who enter the clan are expected to abandon their old life. If they cannot commit to Clan life, they will be exiled.
