BoulderClan was founded on the remains of the previous clan; MidnightClan. The previous clan was led by a powerful grey tom called Boulderstar, though when tragedy struck and their home was ambushed by rogues, the entire clan was wiped out. Boulderstar, on his last life, wasn't able to do anything but watch his clanmates die. But by the time the loner cat Pigeon was called to found a new clan in the old territory, the rogues had moved on. He was blessed with the name 'Stonecloud' due to his grey pelt and rather calm nature. The clan welcomes anyone who tries to step foot in it, unless they prove themselves to be hostile. Loyalty is the most valued trait in the clan, to both the leader and the clan as a whole. If someone is disloyal to the clan, the leader will exile them by sunup. Simply disobeying a task can be excused, but killing another cat in cold blood wouldn't be. Exiling is very much judged case by case.
Whilst StarClan is well respected and admired in BoulderClan, their opposite is FireClan. FireClan is bent on destroying the clans from within, recruiting those that they deem worthy enough, and training them in their dreams. Using the name 'FireClan' is considered a curse, and is considered one of the harshest things a cat can say to another (such as saying a cat belongs in FireClan). Unknown to BoulderClan, any kit named Fire-, Flame-, Ember-, or anything similar, is watched carefully, as they may hold FireClan blood in their veins. Cats with other shifty names (Rat-, Dark-, Ash-, etc.) are also watched, but less closely than the others.
REPUTATION
BoulderClan only has one occupied border; RippleClan. Their leader, Dovestar, is fairly indifferent about the clan, though thinks of them to be a little strange as they just wondered into the abandoned territory and claimed it as their own. But he doesn't mind the clan, as long as they stick to the borders. To outsiders, BoulderClan seems almost weak due to how they are mainly made up of loners and rogues, but in reality they're much tougher than they appear. Despite being founded by a loner, the leader is a born clan cat, and multiple others were also born in other clans. When Stonecloud was in charge, cats were usually allowed to pass through without any complications, as he didn't really mind, giving the clan a more relaxed name. However, with Lionstar taking leadership, he doesn't let as many cats pass through, as it is BoulderClan territory. Any nearby rogue groups dislike this increased protection, but in the end, Lionstar will happy sort out any border disputes with both teeth and claws.
TRADITIONS
BoulderClan has a handful of traditions that impact on the clan's behaviour.
Midnight's Calling On the last day of each season, the cats will take the day off from hunting and patrolling (meaning the day before has excessive hunting patrols) and spend the day sharing tongues and relaxing. At night, all of the cats move to the Cave of Stars to sleep. The hole above the cavern lets moonlight shine down and bathe the cats sleeping, and majority are able to speak with StarClan for those four nights a year. They spend the night there due to how Stonecloud spent his first night there, letting StarClan guide him, and call the day 'Midnight's Calling' because of MidnightClan, the previous clan. Starlight's Breeze Every second moon, the BoulderClan medicine cat will walk and spend the night with RippleClan's medicine cat. The two share tongues of what has happened in since they last met, including any border disputes, hunting issues, and even herbs that are dying off. The information discussed is only ever shared between the two cats and their leaders. If the information is worth the entire clan hearing, the leader will make the call, but the medicine cat is never allowed to disclose what was spoken without gaining permission first.
CLAN MEETINGS
"All cats of BoulderClan are called to gather underneath Pigeon Point for a clan meeting!" Apprentice Ceremony "(-kit), you have reached six moons of age, and it is now time for you to begin your apprenticeship in BoulderClan. I call for (Mentor) to step forward as your mentor. I hope that (he/she) is able to pass on (his/her) (most valuable trait). I trust that (Mentor) will teach you as well as (he/she) was taught, and if the need arises, I will not hesitate to give you a different mentor. From this moment until your apprenticeship is completed, you will be known as (-paw)." The two cats step forward and touch noses. The clan erupts in cheers for the new apprentice(s).
It is tradition for the apprentice(s) to immediately leave with their mentors for a one-on-one tour of the territory. Regular apprentices usually spend the day learning how to hunt, whilst medicine cat apprentices spend the day sleeping next to the Star Stone. Many regular apprentices think that medicine cats have the easiest first day, but in reality, they're trying to connect with StarClan to receive their blessing. If StarClan does not approve of the apprentice, they will be given a warrior mentor and will begin regular training. The medicine cat must not try to interfere with the apprentice's connection; if it is not meant to be, it is not meant to be.
Warrior Ceremony "(-paw), you have demonstrated valuable skills as an apprentice of this clan, and it is now time for you to progress as a warrior. This has already been discussed with (deputy) and (mentor), and we all believe that it is time. Do you promise to uphold the values of BoulderClan until you move to StarClan?" "I do." "Then with my power and the blessing of StarClan, you will now be called (name). We all honour and respect your abilities as a warrior, and we hope that you will use everything you have learnt from (mentor) to be an asset to the clan." The new warrior shouts their name from Pigeon Point. The leader, deputy and medicine cat echo with a shout. The entire clan echoes the shout afterwards.
New warriors are named in the early hours of the morning, when the sun is just starting to rise. They are allowed to spend the day lounging around and eating, spending time with their friends and family. Though by nightfall, they are expected to sit vigil and guard the camp. No other cats are allowed to sit with them, so if only one apprentice becomes a warrior, they hold the responsibility entirely on their shoulders.

Advisor - A generally peaceful cat that settles in-clan debates and arguments. They don't have the power that a deputy has in clan, but are well respected anyway. Most cats will listen to the Advisor.
